What is a pontoon ramp?
A pontoon ramp is a gangway that provides safe access between the shore and a floating pontoon, jetty, marina or dock. The ramp allows movement as water levels change while maintaining easy pedestrian access.
What materials are used in your pontoon ramps?
Marine Dock Systems manufactures ramps using marine grade aluminium, F27 hardwood timber, stainless steel fasteners, aluminium mesh decking, aluminium plate decking and fibreglass mini mesh decking.
Do you manufacture aluminium gangways?
Yes. We manufacture fully welded aluminium gangways and walkways for residential, commercial and industrial marine applications throughout Australia.
Can gangways be supplied with handrails?
Yes. Aluminium handrails can be fitted to most gangways and ramps to improve safety and comply with project requirements.
What is a sea grass friendly ramp?
Sea grass friendly ramps use expanded aluminium mesh or fibreglass mini mesh decking which allows sunlight to pass through the deck to support seagrass growth below the structure.
Do you offer timber ramps?
Yes. We manufacture timber ramps using F27 kiln dried Queensland Blackbutt hardwood decking and framing components with marine grade hardware.
Can I purchase a DIY ramp kit?
Yes. We can supply complete build-it-yourself kits, frame and hardware packages, hinge kits or fully assembled ramps ready for installation.
Do your ramps include hinges?
Yes. Our ramp systems can be supplied with heavy duty aluminium and stainless steel hinge assemblies designed for long term marine use.
Can ramps be attached to seawalls?
Yes. We manufacture hinge systems and transition plates suitable for attachment to seawalls, concrete landings, retaining walls and marina structures.
Do you manufacture custom ramps?
Yes. Marine Dock Systems designs and manufactures custom ramps and gangways to suit specific site requirements, widths, lengths and load capacities.
What lengths of gangways are available?
We manufacture gangways and ramps from small residential access ramps through to large commercial and industrial gangways exceeding 16 metres in length.
Can ramps be fitted with rollers?
Yes. Pontoon end rollers can be fitted where required to allow smooth movement and reduce wear between the ramp and floating structure.
What decking options are available?
Decking options include hardwood timber, aluminium plate, marine carpet, expanded aluminium mesh and fibreglass mini mesh depending on the application and environmental requirements.
Do you manufacture floating walkways?
Yes. We manufacture floating aluminium walkways, floating access ramps and floating bridges using polyethylene flotation modules and aluminium framework.
Are your ramps suitable for marinas?
Yes. Our gangways and ramps are widely used in residential pontoons, commercial marinas, yacht clubs, public jetties, floating docks and industrial waterfront facilities.
Can ramps be supplied Australia wide?
Yes. Marine Dock Systems supplies ramps, gangways, walkways and marina access systems throughout Australia from our Queensland and New South Wales facilities.
What are transition plates used for?
Transition plates provide a smooth connection between the ramp and shore structure, reducing trip hazards and improving accessibility for pedestrians and equipment.
Do you manufacture industrial access ramps?
Yes. We manufacture heavy duty industrial aluminium ramps, work platform access ramps, floating walkways and custom engineered gangways for commercial projects.
Can ramps be designed for wheelchair access?
Yes. Subject to site conditions and local requirements, ramps can be designed with suitable widths, gradients and handrails to improve accessibility.
Why choose Marine Dock Systems ramps?
Marine Dock Systems has been manufacturing Australian made marine infrastructure since 1981, supplying durable ramps, gangways, pontoons, jetties and marina systems throughout Australia and internationally.
